International Web Guru Visits Saskatoon
Dec 03, 2008
Peter Merholz, president of San Francisco-based Adaptive Path, arrives in Saskatoon for an interactive industry workshop on December 4. For more than seven years, Merholz has been instrumental in developing Adaptive Path’s ability to provide world-class consulting, training and public events.
Merholz began with a focus on information architecture and over time expanded his knowledge to include product strategy, user research and practice development. He has worked with a wide variety of clients including: Hallmark, Intel, Wells Fargo, United Airlines and the Vanguard Group.
Before Adaptive Path, Merholz was the creative director of Epinions.com, a startup that exemplified the Silicon Valley scene in 1999.
In 1999 Merholz was also among the few who maintained personal websites that were called weblogs. Having fun one day, he said he was going to pronounce weblog as ‘wee blog’, and later shortened that to just ‘blog’. Thanks to the success of Blogger, Peter’s word caught on, and he’s proud to be in the Oxford English Dictionary.
